Pleasanton Homes and Real Estate

Pleasanton is one of the gems of the East Bay, Located just south of Dublin and San Ramon and West of Livermore, Pleasanton is home to about 70,000 people.

In 2010 it was ranked by CNN Money Magazine as the 63rd Best Places to Live in the US. This wasn’t always the case however as Pleasanton, or more properly the area was one of the most lawless places and in 1850 was dubbed “The Most Desperate Town in the West” as it was ruled by bandits and desperados. Main Street shoot outs were common back then.

Today, Pleasanton is a peaceful town and the main street is a fantastic place to go for a stroll or shopping. In the Summer Months they close Main Street on Wednesdays and create a themed street fair with every week having a different theme.

Pleasanton in 2005 and again in 2007 was named the wealthiest midsized town in America by the Census Bureau. It is home to a many different neighborhoods. Some older quaint homes are near downtown, other areas have large ranch homes on large lots and to the East, Ruby Hills is a gated golf community with custom homes selling for $2M and up.

With excellent schools, a busy and quaint downtown, diverse neighborhoods and a pleasant way of live, Pleasanton offers a lot to homeowners. If you are interested in seeing homes in Pleasanton, please give me a call.
